I was born in the ‘50s in ‘beat-town’ The Hague (The Netherlands). In
1969 I went to university to study sociology in ‘left wing’ Amsterdam.
But finally, in 1977, I found the perfect life for me in becoming an
actor/singer in the ‘red’ rock theatre group Werk in Uitvoering (Man at
work) in Groningen. I performed with them until 1986. Some of our
highlights were the shows Overlast (Nuisance) and De Oplossing? (The
Solution?). The movie theatre version of De Oplossing? was nominated
for the Gouden Kalf award.
Later on, I performed in several productions of the RO Theater
(Rotterdam) and played parts in several independent productions: Ik Jan
Cremer, Little Voice, West Side Story, Blood Brothers and Mamma Mia, to
name but a few.
From 1990 on, I was also seen regularly on Dutch television: I had
leading parts - like Dirty Dan in Het Oude Noorden, the Dutch version
of Eastenders - supporting parts and guest roles in over 30 TV
productions, amongst others Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden and
Baantjer.
Music has always been very important for me, both in my daily life and
in my work. My musical life started with rock, I had a long fling
with jazz and ended with Greek music in the widest sense of the word.
For four years, I was the lead singer of Ano Kato, a Dutch trio
performing Greek music. Greek broadcasting companies (both television
and radio) showed a lot of interest in us during those years.
Later on I started the band Nomades, We performed with a mix of Greek music, jazz and music from the Balkans.

During the past few years, I have not only been performing in
theatres, but I have been writing and directing shows and musicals as
well. Among others, I wrote the texts for Knibbel Knabbel Knuisje (a
show for kids and their parents), and De Kameleon Ontvoerd. I also
directed the musicals Jekyll & Hyde and Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat.
For quite a few years now, I have been working as an actor in training situations as well.
